By providing free and hygienic sanitary products to those in need, we improve access to essential menstrual health resources, a critical component of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. RedBox operates across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, reaching girls and women who would otherwise face real barriers to managing their periods safely, whether that’s cost, availability, or simply a lack of accurate information. Alongside product distribution, we deliver workshops in schools and communities, run by nurses and trained facilitators, to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene, debunk myths, and promote self-confidence, helping to break down the silence and stigma that so often surrounds menstruation. In areas where female genital mutilation (FGM) is practiced, the lack of proper menstrual products intensifies existing health risks, something we have witnessed firsthand, and which has directly shaped our commitment to this work. By combining sustainable products with honest, open education, RedBox helps ensure that a girl’s period is never the reason she falls behind, whether at school, at home, or in her own sense of dignity.
